McKean County

The cause of a fire Saturday afternoon on Silvies Lane in Sergeant Township is undermined. The single family dwelling owned by 81 year old Veronica Siflies of Okeechobee was totally destroyed. Damage is estimated to be $350,000.

A Cyclone man is wanted for strangulation according to state police at Lewis Run. They were called to an active domestic violence assault early last Thursday on East Main Street in Mt. Jewett and found that Lucas Fowler had broken into a residence through a window, assaulted the resident, damaged multiple items and stole the victim’s cell phone before fleeing. 

A 42 year old DuBois woman is facing charges of possessing unstamped cigarettes. Troopers at Lewis Run report when they stopped Jessie Galentine for traffic violations on South Avenue in Lewis Run last Thursday they allegedly found 118 cartons of unstamped cigarettes inside the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Lewis Run state police investigated an identity theft via a credit card scam on April 24 victimizing a 75 year old Smethport woman. Troopers remind the public to be vigilant regarding such scams.

State police at Lewis Run are filing  drug possession charges against 50 year old Thomas Jaskowak of Moshannon. Troopers claim when they stopped him for traffic violations they determined he had been driving his 2003 Suzulight SU  under the influence and was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Again state police at Lewis Run did not indicate which one was the driver and which one was the passenger but have charged two Erie men with drug possession. After stopping their 2022 Chevrolet for a traffic violation on Route 219 in Sergeant Township last Thursday night.  Corey Frantz, 34, and 37 year old Mark Cass are facing charges in district court.

An Altoona man was arrested for drug possession after he was stopped on Route  219 last Thursday evening in Sergeant Township. State police contend 51 year old Robert Knouse was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

State police at Ridgway arrested a Johnsonburg man for drug possession after stopping his 2011 GM Acadia on Blaine Avenue in Johnsonburg Saturday afternoon. He was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Drug charges are pending against a 29 year old Kersey woman after police investigated an abandoned car on private property Friday morning. An illegal substance and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in the car.

State police are looking for 29 year old Cody Colson of Kersey who allegedly fled to avoid apprehension when officers tried to serve a warrant Friday morning on Irishtown Road in Fox Township. Colson fled the scene on a four wheeler into the woods. Anyone who knows of  his whereabouts is asked to contact state police at the Ridgway barracks.

Tioga County

A Columbia Cross Roads, PA man has been charged with several crimes in connection to a vehicle crash occurring on March 30 in Rutland Township. Lonny Hurst has been charged with aggravated assault by motor vehicle, accidents involving death or serious injury recklessly endangering another person, damage to attended vehicle or property and several summary violations. The victim has been identified as Richard Tripp of Mansfield.

A theft in Jackson Township is being investigated by state police at Mansfield. A tractor seat, valued at $100  was taken from a Toro Zero Turn lawnmower between December 7 and April 15.  The machine is owned by John Jewell of Sussex, NJ.
