McKean County

A theft victimizing an Eldred couple is being investigated by state police at Lewis Run. A black male intercepted a check written by the victims and cashed it at a local bank. The suspect is believed to be 20 30 years old.

An Austin man was taken into custody by state police at Lewis Run on an arrest warrant from Columbiana County Ohio last Wednesday on Route 155 in Liberty Township. Steven Caravella is being held in the McKean County Jail awaiting extradition to Ohio.

Lewis Run State police arrested a 22 year old Port Allegany man for criminal mischief for a domestic violence incident early last Wednesday morning on the North Brooklynside Road. Troopers claim the suspect, whose name was withheld, kicked out the windshield on a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt belonging to a 20 year old Bradford woman.

State police at Lewis Run have made several DUI arrests recently.

DUI charges are pending against a 44 year old Smethport man who was stopped by patrol officers on Route 46 in Keating Township Saturday afternoon. The driver, whose name was withheld was allegedly found driving his 2015 Dodge Durango under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance. Police claim the driver was found in possession of a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia.

A 65 year old Port Allegany woman has been arrested for drug possession. Lewis Run troopers stopped the suspect’s 2010 Chevrolet Impala early last Wednesday morning on Route 64 in Keating Township at a traffic check point. Her name was not released.

A 27 year old Charleroi driver is also facing DUI charges. State police in Lewis Run arrested the driver after stopping his 2015 Chevrolet Silverado on South Main Street in Port Allegany late last Saturday night.

Two Mechanicsburg relatives have been arrested for drug possession by troopers at Lewis Run. Troopers said the driver and passenger were allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Charges against 29 year old Carlos Sandoval and 26 year old Christian Sandoval will be filed in District Court.

A Ridgway man is being charged with drug possession after troopers pulled him over for multiple traffic violations on Route 6 in Hamlin Township early Saturday morning. Jason DeSantis, 43, was driving a 2009 Suzulight SU and was allegedly found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Elk County
A collision Wednesday afternoon on the Bennetts Valley Highway resulted in injuries for a Force, PA  teen driver and her passengers and an elderly Byrndale driver. State police said the collision occurred when 18 year old Haylee Berry pulled out of the Pine Avenue intersection in front of a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 70 year old David Claypool. Berry was charged with carless driving. Claypool was taken to Penn Highlands Dubois with serious injuries. Berry,  and passengers Kaylene Stiles of ST. Marys, and an infant from St.Marys were all taken to Penn Highlands Dubois. One passenger, Robin Huff of Force was not hurt.

Minor injuries were reported for a Ridgway driver following a one-vehicle accident Saturday night on the Glen Hazel Road in St. Marys. According to state police, Lukas McClain was navigating a left hand curve too fast for conditions causing his Dodge Ram to go off the road and hit a tree. McClain declined treatment.

A hit an and run occurring just after 6:30 pm February 11 in Hamilton Township is being investigated by state police at Mansfield. Troopers explained the unknown unit was traveling north and Patricia Hutcheson of Mansfield was going south on the Morris Run Road negotiating a sharp curve when the unknown vehicle traveled into the southbound lane, hit Hutcheson’s Subaru Legacy and continued on without stopping.
