McKean County

Troopers at Lewis Run are probing the theft of a dirt bike from a residence on Main Street in Lewis Run September 24. The  red and white Husqvarna was taken at about 11:30 pm.

A Burglary at a house on East Main Street in Mt. Jewett last Sunday is being investigated by state police at Lewis Run. Thieves stole about $700 in US currency and a cross bow. The victims are identified as a 24 year old Mt. Jewett woman and a 19 year old Wilcox man. Anyone with information  about either crime is asked to call the Lewis Run barracks at 814.368.9230.

The theft of some vehicle parts from an Otto Township residence September 22 is under investigation by state police at Lewis Run. Thieves removed a package from the front porch of a home on Sweitzer Drive belonging to a 43 year old Duke Center man.

Police did not release details by report a 23 year old Port Allegany woman was victimized last week in a credit card scam. Troopers remind the public to be vigilant regarding online scams.

A St. Marys woman has been arrested for drug possession after troopers stopped her vehicle on Route 219 in Lafayette Township last Sunday night. Police claim 23 year old Ally Assalone was found in possession of a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia.

DUI charges are pending against an unidentified Derrick City man. State police say when they stopped suspect’s 2018 Chevrolet Silverado on Route 219 on the night of September 24 they determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

A 23 year old Eldred resident is facing DUI charges after being stopped on South Davis Street in Bradford last Thursday evening. Troopers allege the suspect, whose name they chose to withhold, was driving a 2017 Toyocar van container trailer under the influence of alcohol.

A McKean county driver escaped injury Friday night when her car hit a bear on Route 6 in Hamlin Township. Charlotte Hillard was going west when bear ran across the road in front of her Mercury Sable. Only minor cosmetic damage occurred and the bear departed the scene.

An elderly Johnsonburg driver escaped injury last Wednesday night when his Chevrolet Equinox hit a deer on Route 6 in Keating Township. Troopers said 75 year old John Fowler was going west when the deer came onto the road and Fowler was unable to avoid the collision.

State police at Lewis Run arrested at 32 year old Eldred man for simple assault after a fight at the McKean County jail on September  9. The suspect’s name was not released but troopers claim he injured another inmate during the scuffle.

Disorderly conduct charges have been filed against a 47 year old Mt. Jewett man in connection to an incident last Saturday in Mt. Jewett. No details were released except that the victim is listed as a 76 year old Mt. Jewett woman.

Elk County

A 36 year old Kersey man was the victim of an ATM theft last Thursday afternoon. Cyber thieves removed $8236 from the victim’s Chase Credit Card.

Minor injuries were reported from both drivers involved in a collision in Fox Township Friday morning. State police report the collision occurred when 19 year old Adam Mowrey of Sykesville failed to stop  his Nissan Sentra at a stop sign and drove through a four way intersection colliding with a Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 17 year old Kersey girl. Mowrey was taken tp Penn Highlands Elk by ambulance. The 17 year old driver did not require medical attention.

Cameron County

DUI charges are pending against a 28 year old Emporium man who was stopped by patrol officers on the Sizerville Road in Shippen Township early Friday morning. Authorities assert the driver, whose name was withheld, was driving his 2006 Ford   F-150 XLT under the influence of alcohol.

Troopers at Emporium are filing theft charges against a 30 year old Waynesburg woman. Authorities claim the suspect, whose name was withheld, wrote a bad check for $136.69 to the Gibson Township Tax Collector and has failed to respond to letters concerning the matter.

Tioga County

An ID theft is being probed by state police at Mansfield. Cyber thieves used the identity of a 65 year old Westfield woman to scam her  online Bitcoin account out of $2,000.

A 38 year old Liberty, PA woman has been arrested for drug possession after two encounters with state troopers Saturday. State police were called to Bloss Mountain Road on a report of a woman acting odd and erratic , walking in and out of the road causing vehicles to slow down and swerve to avoid her. Residents of the area told police they were concerned about her safety and it turns out the same woman had been warned earlier in the day to stop impeding traffic. She was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance and was taken to the Tioga County Jail.
