Bradford man accused of illegally possessing gun….Eldred resident arrested for threatening language…Several charges pending against Bradford man after pursuit….Various items stolen from Tioga County shed….

 McKean County

A 40 year old Bradford man whose name is being withheld has been arrested for illegal possession of firearms. State police say when they stopped the suspect during the early morning of July 19 on Dorothy Lane for traffic violations, they found he was illegally possessing a gun.

State police at Lewis Run have arrested a 24 year old Eldred man for threatening language. Troopers claim the suspect whose name they are withholding threatened to harm  a 60 year old Eldred man on the afternoon of August 1 on Route 219 in Bradford Township.

Several charges are pending against 28 year old Eugene Kontz of Bradford. State police allege when they tried to stop Kontz for a traffic violation on Route 219 in Bradford during the early morning August 5, he failed to stop and took off.  After a short foot pursuit Kontz was apprehended and found to have multiple violations and was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug possession charges are pending against 22 year old Brent Kennedy of Bradford following a traffic stop on Forman Street in Bradford August 6. Troopers claim Kennedy was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia.

A Cuba, NY man is also being charged with drug possession by state police at Lewis Run. Troopers claim when they stopped 19 year old Dakota King they found he was in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia.

Lewis Run troopers arrested a 32 year old Olean, NY man for DUI after stopping  him on Route 155 in Eldred Township during the early morning of August . Police claim the suspect   was driving  his 2010 KIA under the influence of alcohol.

Tioga County

A burglary in Union Township Tioga County  last  week is being investigated by state police at Mansfield. Thieves broke into a shed owned by a 60 year old Canton resident and stole  a Thermos grill, Cabelas Game Camera and miscellaneous tools. Value of the stolen items is estimated to be $680.

A Westfield man has been arrested for receiving stolen property . State police at Mansfield have charged 30 year old Klarc House in connection  to the theft of a 2000 Ford F250 Supercab belonging to Kenneth and Lois Ayres of Columbia Cross Roads on July 24.

Troopers at Mansfield have arrested 35 year old Paul Isadore of Wellsboro for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on July 1. The 2012 Dodge belongs to Costy’s Auto Sales of Mansfield.

Tioga County authorities are looking for a missing Wellsboro man. Jody Nudd, 51, is  Caucasian, 5’07” and has blue eyes. Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the Mansfield state police barracks at 570.662.2151.

The House State Government Committee will convene Tuesday at Villanova University – Mullen Center for the Performing Arts  to receive testimony on House Bill 1369. Sponsored by Rep. Chris Quinn (R-Delaware), the legislation would allow the almost 1.3 million Pennsylvanians not registered with either of the two major parties to cast a ballot in either the Republican or Democratic primary. Currently, Pennsylvania is one of just nine states with completely closed primary elections. This is the first official House action on open primary legislation in decades.
