….theft of 14 catalytic convertors in Tioga County investigated….burglary in Covington Township probed…Comic Con to be  held in Wellsboro this coming weekend…

Tioga County

A 30 year old Mansfield resident, whose name is being withheld, has been committed to the Tioga County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail after being arraigned on charges of terroristic threats. Authorities allege the suspect punched a 52 year old Tioga man in the face several times and threatened the victim with a kitchen knife last Wednesday morning. Black Forest Broadcasting News has determined the suspect’s name is Bryan David Talada. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 9:15 am August 18, 2022 before Judge Edgcomb.

State police at Mansfield are investigating the theft of catalytic convertors from fourteen  vehicles during June and July in Tioga County. An 8750 Watt Predator Generator, still in the box valued at $600 and a spare tire from a camper were also stolen.

 Troopers at Mansfield area also investigating a burglary taking on the night of July 30 in Covington Township. Burglars entered the home of a 63 year old Covington woman through a window. Once inside, criminals used a sharpie to write “666”on the walls and drew a pentagram star on the kitchen counter. Investigators were able to lift fingerprints from a window and have sent them to the state police crime lab for identification. . Anyone with information about either incident  is asked to call state police at 570.662.2151.

 

Elk County

 Ridgway based state police say DUI charges are pending against a 34 year old Wilcox woman. Troopers claim the suspect, whose name they did not release, went to the Ridgway barracks to report a theft  last Wednesday night but authorities claim they determined she had driven there in her 2018 Jeep under the influence.

Cameron County

An Elmira, NY resident has  been arrested on drug charges  by state police at Emporium.  Troopers  say 19 Dylan Zwanka  was a passenger in a 2016 Dodge Charger  they stopped at the intersection of West 4th Street and Poplar Street last Wednesday night for a traffic violation and they found he was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
