Potter County

Serious injuries were reported for a Portville, NY truck driver after a crash last Wednesday afternoon in Abbott Township, Potter County. According to state police Shawn Hill was going south on the Cherry Springs Road when he slowed down for an upcoming left hand curve. The rig went off the road, struck an embankment  and rolled over onto the passenger side before coming to rest on the driver’s side. Hill was completely ejected from the cab and was taken to UPMC Cole by ambulance.

A Galeton driver was cited for speeding following a one-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Ulysses Township. State police said Christopher Kefover  was speeding when his Ford F-150XLT swerved off the South Brookland Road and struck a sign. Kefover was not hurt.

Speeding charges have also been field against 18 year old William Ice of Austin after a mishap last Wednesday in Austin. Troopers reported Ice was going south on the Downey Road in Harrison Township when his Ford F250 Supercab swerved off the west side of the road on a down slope and went into a ditch. Ice apparently did not require treatment for minor injuries.

DUI charges have been filed against Michael Majot  by state police at Coudersport. Troopers say when they investigated a crash on Costello Road early on the morning of July 19 Majot was visibility intoxicated.

A 15 year old Ulysses girl has been cited for physical harassment for an incident allegedly taking place last Tuesday afternoon on Academy Street in that town.  Troopers claim the suspect punched an 18 year old Ulysses girl in the head.

McKean County

A Port Allegany man has been arrested for physical harassment. State police claim 51 year old Stanley Cornelius hit a 15 year old Eldred Township  girl last Friday afternoon.

State police at Lewis Run arrested 44 year old Leon Hughes of Buffalo for scattering rubbish. Troopers allege Hughes deposited multiple household items on private property at 91 Artline Road in Eldred Township on July 6.

Three area underage drinkers are facing charges in McKean County. The suspects are listed as 17 year old boy from Rew, an 18 year old boy from Duke Center and a 17 year old Bolivar, NY boy. A 2005 Ford in which they all were riding was observed hitting several traffic cones and all three were reportedly observed being under the influence of alcohol.

Troopers did not release the name of a 19 year old Roulette resident facing DUI charges. The suspect was driving a 2006 Subaru on Skinner Creek Road in Liberty Township when he was stopped just after 2:00 am on July 9.

A 49 year old Bradford man has been arrested for DUI. The suspect, whose name is being withheld, was pulled over when cops allegedly observed his 2022 Toyota Tacoma making multiple traffic violations on Block Festival Way in Bradford during the early morning of July 23.

A criminal mischief on the East Valley Road in Keating Township is under investigation by state police at Lewis Run. Vandals smashed the rear windshield on a 2010 Ford Edge owned by a 34 year old Keating Township man between 2:00 pm last Thursday and 10:00 am Friday.  Damage is estimated to be $700.Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 814.368.9230.

Unknown vandals fired a paintball at the home of Amanda Baker at 1199 Bell Run Road in Ceres Township on the afternoon of July 22.

Elk County

The theft of some loose tires is being investigated by state police at Ridgway. The tires, valued at $600 and a truck key were taken from the back of a pick up owned by a 29 year old Ridgway man on the evening of July 8 while the truck was parked on Maine Lane in Ridgway.

Tioga County

A theft of items from a vehicle in Richmond Township, Tioga County is being probed by state police at Mansfield. Thieves stole  a Pittsburgh Steelers money clip holding  $2,000 in cash, a credit card, multiple personal ID cards and a checkbook from a locked 2021 Chevrolet Silverado owned by a 58 year old Mansfield resident while it was parked at his home on North Bullock Road last Monday afternoon. The criminals also “keyed” both sides of the truck.

A Woodhull, NY woman is being charged with DUI following a crash in Brooklfield Townsihp on the afternoon of July 7. Troopers said Lexus Wood told them her 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee went  off the road because of loose gravel but when they investigated, Wood showed signs of impairment.

Two Tioga residents have been charged with physical harassment for an altercation taking place Friday afternoon on Route 287 in Tioga Township. Troopers claim a 41 year old woman and a 28 year old man shoved each other during an argument.
