McKean County

A Randolph, NY motorcyclist died in an accident Monday afternoon in Keating Township, McKean County. State police reported 23 year old Austin Shaffer was thrown off his Harley Davidson when it failed to make a left hand turn. Shaffer was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Coudersport woman escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Port Allegany. Troopers said Briana Black was going east on South Main Street when she served to avoid an object on the road causing her 2020 Ford  to hit the curb and travel 500 feet before stopping. Black was using a seatbelt at the time. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

State police at Lewis Run have made several recent DUI arrests. Charges  are pending against 40 year old Mark Dillenbeck of Mt. Jewett. Troopers allege Dillenbeck was driving a 2014 Toyocar Van Container Trailer under the influence early Sunday morning on Route 6 in Hamlin Township.

A Smethport man, whose name was withheld, is also being charged with DUI. Troopers claim the suspect was pulled over on Barbour Street in Bradford late Thursday night.

Troopers have also charged 35 year old Jarmar Pierce of Bradford with DUI after stopping his 2002 Chevrolet on High Street in Bradford early Wednesday morning.

Elk County

A theft in Fox Township is being investigated by state police at Ridgway. Thieves stole a steel single axle cart, a Stihl 660 chainsaw and a catalytic converter between May 7 and 12 from a residence on Hayes Road. The equipment is valued at $2250 and belongs to a 28 Kersey man and a 45 year old Kersey woman. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 814.776.6136.

Tioga County

State police at Mansfield are investigating another burglary in the Wellsboro area. Thieves forced their way into an unoccupied house on Route 6 in Charleston Township May 19 and stole  various food items including hot dogs, a frozen pizza, venison meat and ice cream along with a broom, medicine cabinet and bathroom mirror valued at a total of $245. The criminals also vandalized a 2010 Ford which was parked in the garage. Troopers say the theft is definitely connected to others in the area. The victims are listed as a 59 year old Wellsboro woman, and two Mansfield residents ages 69 and 60.

Region

The PA Department of Health  has issued a weekly update on the number of Covid-19 deaths in Pennsylvania. There have been 45,413  deaths, up 159 for the week. There were a couple of deaths in the Black Forest Broadcasting Service area. The totals are:
