A 16 year old North Tonawanda girl was seriously hurt in an ATV crash in Oswayo Township Sunday afternoon. According to state police, the girl and her passenger 18 year old Konner Marshall, also of North Tonawanda, were thrown off her Arctic Cat 500 after it went off of Butter Creek Road and rolled over four times before hitting an embankment. The girl was taken to Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, Marshall was not transported to a hospital.
No one was hurt in a collision Saturday evening in Sweden Township Potter County. Troopers said the collision occurred when James Martin of Brigantine NJ and Glenn Sweeley of Ulysses were traveling west on East Second Street and Sweely began overtaking Martin in a designated passing zone as Martin tried to turn into a driveway. Martin’s Chevrolet Cruz hit Sweeley’s Dodge Ram on the passenger side and right front corner of his trailer. Esther Martin escaped injury as did passenger’s in Sweeley’s truck, Christine Wolz, and an 11 year old boy both from Ulysses. Martin was cited for failing to signal his turn.
State police at Coudersport are charging 50 year old David Steadman of Enola, PA with DUI after stopping his 2008 Chrysler Sebring on Clinton Street in Galeton May 20 for a traffic violation.
Two Coudersport residents were cited for criminal trespass by state police. Troopers claim 65 yer old Jeffrey Anhorn and a 34 year old unnamed man went onto property at 2343 Big Moores Run in Homer Township owned by Thomas McDonald of Austin on the afternoon of May 23 without his permission.
Troopers at Coudersport are investigating a reported child endangerment occurring at 48 Rose Lake Lane in Allegany Township last week. The case was referred to state police by Potter County Children and Youth Services.
Drug possession charges are pending against 66 year old Gary Parks of Olean. State police at Lewis Run stopped his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado on East Main Street in Bradford Monday evening for a traffic violation and claim he was discovered in possession of a controlled substance.
A 39 year old Rixford man was jailed in lieu of $10,000 straight bail after being arraigned for a physical assault taking place May 21 during domestic violence incident on Columbia Hill Road in Otto Township. Police claim the suspect, whose name they withheld, injured a 32 year old Rixford woman during the assault.
Troopers at Lewis Run are also investigating a rape reported taking place last Friday morning on Oil Valley Road in Otto Township. The victim is listed as a 38 year old Duke Center woman.
Another ID theft is being probed by state police at Lewis Run. Someone used the identity of a 54 year old Kane woman to illegally file for unemployment compensation on May 23.
State police at Lewis Run are looking for help from the public in finding a car involved in a hit and run between 11:00 pm Friday and 9:30 am Saturday on Route 219 north on the Old Bradford Road in Hamlin Township. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2019 or 2020 gray/silver Kia Sorento and would have damage on the driver’s side near the rear bumper. A St. Marys man, whose name is being withheld, has been charged with drug possession. Troopers at Ridgway stopped his 1997 Jeep Cherokee on Route 555 in Benezette Township early Tuesday for erratic driving. Authorities claim the suspect admitted to having drugs and paraphernalia in the vehicle which were seized by officers.
Troopers at Emporium were sketchy on details about an accident taking place Monday on Wycoff Run Road in Gibson Township. The driver was listed as a six year old, probably a typographical error but said a Toyota Tundra hit a rock which had fallen onto the road damaging the rear axle and also the axle on a trailer the truck was hauling. There were no injuries.
Vandals slashed three tires on a 1997 Ford Mustang owned by Kristi Graham of Emporium during the early morning of May 6 while it was parked at 226 Weownit Road In Shippen Township. Damage is estimated to total $392.95.
