 Tioga County

A 32 year old Liberty, PA man was jailed on numerous charges including assault with a weapon after being taken into custody February 27 by Mansfield State Police. Troopers claim the incident began when Patrick Dacillo and 32 year old Heather Rowan began arguing and Dacillo allegedly approached Rowan with a knife and pushed the knife into Rowan’s raised left hand causing a small puncture wound. Dacillo was arrested on the scene and taken to the Tioga County Prison pending arraignment of simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment.

Two Wellsboro residents have been charged with physical harassment following a domestic violence incident March 1 on Antlers Lane in Gaines Township. A 65 year old mn and a 55 year old woman are facing charges in district court.

A Halifax, PA woman escaped injury in a car/deer collision Friday evening in Liberty Township, Tioga County. Mansfield state police said Nichole Shoop was going west on Route 414 when the whitetail bounded from the berm and collided with the front of Shoop’s Ford Expedition.

A would-be gun purchaser was denied a gun November 14, 2020 when paperwork showed Christopher Bartoo, no address given, was still on ARD for a crime committed in July of 2020. Bartoo had tried to buy a .22 caliber rifle from Barbers Firearms on Route 249 in Westfield Township. A few days earlier, a convicted felon also tried unsuccessful  to purchase a gun from the business.

State police at Mansfield did not release the suspect’s name but report a known NY State sex offender was arrested in Blossburg Thursday at his place of employment for failing to register with the Pennsylvania State Police Megan’s Law Unit.

A  possible drug possession at the Liberty High School was investigated on January 27 by state police at Mansfield. Troopers say the investigation is continuing.

A criminal mischief discovered March 20 on Route 414 was investigated by state police at Mansfield. Vandals kicked open the front door on a camp owned by Christopher Kahl of Myerstown. Apparently nothing was taken.

Elk County

Troopers at Ridgway are continuing to investigate an alleged indecent assault involving a 6 year old St. Marys girl. The suspect is also a minor.

McKean County

The theft of a 1989 Morbark Eeger Beever Wood chipper from a location along Route 155 in Liberty Township, McKean County is being investigated by state police at Lewis Run. The yellow machine belongs to a 29 year old Oswayo, PA man and is valued at $8,000. It was stolen sometime between February 28 and March 8. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 814.368.9230.


Two more ID thefts are being probed by troopers at Lewis Run. Someone used the identity of a 63 year old Kane man to open a checking account Friday. And, a cyber thief  illegally used the identity of a 34 year old Eldred woman to file for unemployment Thursday.

Three Bradford residents are being charged with drug possession. Troopers say the charges stem from a traffic stop late Friday night on South Center Street in the city. The driver was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and a passenger was also taken into custody on an active warrant.  Police did not indicate which suspect was the driver and which was the passenger but charges of some sort are being filed against 30 year old Todd Hall and 31 year old Tash Buterbaugh. During the traffic stop, a bystander, whose name was not released, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Nicholas Brown, 30 of Bradford was arrested for drug possession after troopers stopped his 2017 Toyota Tundra on Main Street in Otto Township during the early morning of March 25. Officers allege they found Brown in possession of a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia.

Drug possession charges are being lodged against two Port Allegany residents. Daniel DeHaven, 40 and 32 year old Lola Runyan were arrested when cops pulled over their 22002 Chevrolet on Route 155 early March 26.

The driver of a Ford Bronco was committed to the McKean County Jail late March 26 on DUI charges. Kevin Roberts, 45  of Cyclone, was stopped on Route 46 in Keating Township.

DUI charges are pending for a 21 year old Bradford woman whose vehicle was stopped on York Street in the city early Saturday morning for a traffic violation. The woman’s name was not released.

State police at Lewis Run did not release the name of a 31 year old Eldred woman who is charged with physical harassment. The victim is said to be a 52 year old Eldred woman and the incident allegedly took place last Wednesday on Main Street in Elded.


The PA Department of Health reports, there have been 44,315  Covid 19 deathsin the state to date. Deaths  in the Black Forest Broadcasting Service area  to date are mostly  holding steady.
